Spaces still available on Museum Skills sessions in September/October 2017
We are thrilled to be delivering the Museum Skills session, Planning and Sharing Event for Takeover Day working with Kids in Museums. This event will take place on Thursday 7th September from 13:00- 16:00 at Exeter Community Centre in Exeter.
If you are passionate about raising young people’s aspirations and giving them meaningful roles within museums and heritage sites, then this event will be perfect for you.
You will be given guidance on planning your Takeover Day, inspiration from other venues and gain knowledge and creative ideas to help you put young people at the heart of your work.
Our next session, Engaging Meetings for Trustees which will be held at M Shed in Bristol on Wednesday 20th September from 11:00-16:00.
This session is ideal for both experienced board members and newer members who are looking to learn and expand their knowledge on delivering more engaging meetings for their board.
In this session the objectives are to enable you and your colleagues to strengthen your team, practice more clear decision making, positively manage any risks and to ensure that your board brings attention to what matters most for your organisation.
Our final session Effective Marketing for Beginners will be taking place on Tuesday 10th October 2017 at The Royal Albert Memorial Museum in Exeter from 10:00-16:00.
This session, which is aimed at beginners, will be an informative day full of practical tasks. You will be looking at case studies and discussing popular marketing tools used by museums. We hope that you will leave feeling more confident and inspired in your approach to marketing your museum and better informed on how to reach your audiences.
The SW Museum Skills Programme is open to all of those who work or volunteer within a museum which is either Accredited, Provisionally Accredited or formally Working Towards Accreditation. To check your organisation’s status, please see here. The South West Federation of Museums and Art Galleries also contributes to the programme to enable its member’s access.
