Artsmark Partnership Training – what is it and why is it useful to museums?

Roz Bonnet, 30.11.2017

The Real Ideas Organisation, as South West Bridge for Arts Council England (ACE), would like to invite all museums to become Artsmark Partners. Artsmark is Arts Council England’s flagship programme supporting education settings to evaluate, strengthen, and celebrate, arts and culture throughout their provision.

The Artsmark Partnership Programme (referred to as Artsmark Champions in the development phase) is an ACE endorsed network of arts and cultural organisations committed to supporting education settings on their Artsmark journey to embed arts and culture across the curriculum.

Bristol Museums have seen great success in aligning their education programme with the Artsmark programme, helping them reach more schools and further support settings they are already working with.

Can your museum offer Artsmark Schools opportunities to enhance their provision? Here’s why you should join:

  • Engage and build new audiences through schools and families
  • Support to map your current offer against Artsmark criteria
  • A framework to support development of your CYP offer and respond to the Cultural Education Challenge
  • Gain a better understanding of the needs and priorities of education settings
  • Develop deeper, longer term relationships with education settings
  • Contribute to, and benefit from, signposting and sharing of best practice with like-minded organisations

Joining the Artsmark Partnership Programme is free! All you need to do is book onto a Artsmark Partnership Programme briefing session below. There are three sessions across the South West in Bristol, Bournemouth and Plymouth. Once you have attended a session, ACE will then send you an Artsmark Partner logo and a Code of Practice, outlining expectations of how Partners will engage with and support educational settings.
