  • Attracted over 1.44 million visits in 2013/14. A 5.4% increase on the previous year based on a constant sample.
  • Had a combined turnover of £18.7 million in 2013/14
  • Provided over 1,929 formal education sessions in 2013/14
  • The museums were supported by 1,007 active volunteers who contributed 83,681 hours in 2013/14 worth the equivalent of around £1.1 million

Bristol & South Gloucestershire

Key Facts

  • 13 museums within the Arts Council England Accreditation scheme
  • Attracted over 1.6 million visits in 2013/14. A 7% increase on the previous year based on a constant sample
  • Had a combined turnover of £13.9 million in 2013/14
  • Provided 1,539 formal education sessions in 2013/14
  • The museums were supported by 1,189 active volunteers who contributed 149,776 hours in 2013/14 worth the equivalent of around £2 million

Cornwall

Key Facts

  • 33 museums within the Arts Council England Accreditation scheme
  • Attracted over 1.09 million visits in 2013/14. A 2.8% fall on the previous year based on a constant sample.
  • Provided over 2,804 formal education sessions in 2013/14
  • The museums were supported by 2,156 active volunteers who contributed 215,255 hours in 2013/14 worth the equivalent of around £2.9 million

Devon

Key Facts

  • 44 museums within the Arts Council England Accreditation scheme
  • Attracted over 1.5 million visits in 2013/14. A 5.1% fall on the previous year based on a constant sample
  • Had a combined turnover of £11.9 million in 2013/14
  • Provided over 1,337 formal education sessions in 2013/14
  • The museums were supported by 3,638 active volunteers who contributed 334,134 hours in 2013/14 worth the equivalent of around £4.6 million

Dorset, Bournemouth and Poole

Key Facts

  • Attracted over 890,000 visits in 2013/14

  • Had a combined turnover of over £3.6 million in 2013/14
  • The museums were supported by 1,176 active volunteers who contributed 95,758 hours in 2013/14 worth the equivalent of around £1.3 million

  • Attracted over 580,00  visits in 2013/14

  • The museums were supported by 630 active volunteers who contributed over 30,457 hours in 2013/14 worth the equivalent of around £419,392
